The Environmental Services Department focuses on working with our community to ensure a safe and healthy environment. Our customer service-focused programs provide a variety of educational resources and public outreach opportunities to help keep our citizens informed, as well as engaged in our work process improvement and regulatory enhancement processes.
Enhanced Regulatory Outreach Program
Promotes consistency and transparency during the rule making process. This comprehensive process allows multiple opportunities for stakeholder input regarding the amendment and adoption of all regulatory requirements.
Food Code Standards Committee
Provides a forum for staff and stakeholders to discuss food code questions/interpretations so as to ensure a consistent approach.
Landfill Cleanup - Cave Creek
Cleanup of the Cave Creek Landfill site has been approved by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality and it is underway.

The Office of the Ombudsman was created to provide additional support to residents with unresolved concerns. The ombudsman is an independent, neutral agent who will listen to understand the issues, research and identify root causes, share information, and mediate issues between customers and departments in Maricopa County.
