The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors issued a proclamation this week aimed at saving lives. The Board officially recognized September as National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death among adults in the U.S. and the second leading cause of death among those ages 10 to 24. The proclamation encourages all residents to “take the time to inquire as to the wellbeing of their family, friends, and neighbors over the next few days and to genuinely convey their appreciation for their existence.”
